New Toolkit for Community Education!

PCMN created and published a new toolkit for community educators among churches and organizations. The toolkit comes in the form of a flipchart composed of 15 simple questions on disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM)and on children protection. It is written primarily in English with a Tagalog translation..The writing and illustration were a collaborative work between PCMN and Lingap Pangkabataan, Inc. Five hundred copies were printed and distributed through the support of Tear Nederland. The flipchart was primarily written for the 30 member organizations and churches of the Bearers of Hope program, a partnership program of PCMN on DRRM.
.The flipchart is the main educational material for community education targeting 1,500 community leaders and local barangay local government units. It also draws salient concepts from the DRRNetPhils primer on Republic Act 10121 or the “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010″ and on materials sourced from Unicef, World Vision Development Foundation, Scandinavian Phils. And Tearfund.
