Calamities such as these are those moments when we hear the shout of people in need. Many of those who responded to the call in an overwhelming scene of donations whether in cash or in kind surely made a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters who are hungry, in pain, suffering, naked and afraid. The things that you gave may be good enough for a moment to feed their physical hunger but it has brought a lifetime experience of the love of Jesus Christ through you. His healing love is revealed to those stricken by the fire through our actions, prayers and fellowships.
As reported by Pastor Dolor Umandac, she and Pastor Nonoy Alegre gained support from Mayor Gerry Calderon of Angono to work with the barangay captains of Angono, Rizal to educate the 10 local barangay government units on the new law. The Pastors were successful also in tapping on the resources of the municipality as their education sessions will be funded by the barangays.
PCMN faced many challenges as 2010 began. An important partnership ended in 2009. The partner stood by PCMN during its early years as a fledgling network. Through their support, PCMN had the resources to engage, equip and mobilize faith-based NGOs and local churches in several regions to address child protection issues in their communities. They pulled out from the Philippines because they considered the country as not a critical area anymore.
Despite the Holiday where most people have gone to the provinces for the observance of all Souls and all Saints day, a total of 46 participants representing 11 organizations in network with PCMN came for the growth of love conference. It doesn’t take one a hard time to understand how much sacrifice it entails to miss one of the important days of the year when families come together. Those who came however chose to discover what Dr. Keith White meant in the Growth of Love. Aside from the fact that Dr. White is a natural attraction the maestro he truly is, it may also show some reality that at a certain degree we are after all in constant need of being loved.
