The group discussion was well participated by the attendees and they wished it was given a more time since many would like to share about their own personal opinion, as well as experiences. The power point presentation was quite long which needed to be revised in case a limited presentation time is allowed for us to do the advocacy session. Last April 16 2011 , the youth of Tondo Blessed Hope Bible Baptist Church vote to support the “World’s children’s prize for the rights of a child” Ballot boxes made of carton with picture of the 3 candidates. 46 less fortunate children living in Binondo participated. We told them about the global rights of a child, and these rights supposed to be known by them and to be respected by adults. It made a big impact especially when we showed them the three candidates, stories and mission.

An increasing number of children both boys and girls are being recruited and promised good jobs only to be placed as domestic workers in abusive and exploitative situations or in worst case scenarios brought to prostitution houses. Many times, parents and relatives themselves unknowingly give consent to recruiters.

Calamities such as these are those moments when we hear the shout of people in need. Many of those who responded to the call in an overwhelming scene of donations whether in cash or in kind surely made a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters who are hungry, in pain, suffering, naked and afraid. The things that you gave may be good enough for a moment to feed their physical hunger but it has brought a lifetime experience of the love of Jesus Christ through you. His healing love is revealed to those stricken by the fire through our actions, prayers and fellowships.
