We all operate on programs. In order to save time and effort validating each piece of information that we receive, we respond base on patterns we have established in the past. When people smile at u, we automatically smile back. When we deal with authority figures, we either panic or interact with confidence. When we are driving and see yellow light, we instinctively slow down, or speed up, depending on our programs.

We hope that you and your group will be able to take a breather for at least a day as the month of June unfolds for a special time of prayer. The first week of June is our annual week of prayer for children at risk in the Philippines as well as in the rest of the world. As a network, we have observed this prayer event annually for the past several years. We had big prayer gatherings, praying by clusters in a specific geographical area and in our respective organizations and churches. This letter is a timely and friendly reminder to each one to take the time to pray intentionally for children. We hope that you will facilitate a prayer event during the week as you are led by the Lord. It doesn’t matter whether it is big or small event. What matters is that we are united in our prayer for children during the week.
